Yesterday marked the debut of the Sanderson Sisters in the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular!
Our night started in the Hall of Presidents as part of the Disney Parks Blog Party kickoff.
We were joined by Show Director Denise Case and Christine Burchett, Associate Costume Designer with Walt Disney Imagineering.
They talked a little bit about the development of the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular and what we could expect to see in the first show. Denise talked about the development of the show and what they set out to accomplish. She said that tying in scenes and songs from the movie was important to the team. While the choreography and special effects are excellent, Denise said she really enjoyed working on implementing a comedic element in the show.
On our way back out to the party we were given a gift bag with an Orange Bird MagicBand exclusive to the Disney Parks Blog.
On to the show. It is AWESOME! It’s definitely the best castle stage show I’ve ever seen and isn’t even comparable to the Villain Mix and Mingle show from last year. The comedy is on point, the music is great, and the show flows perfectly.
Here’s a full video of the show from wdwmagic:
Here are some detail photos of the stage.
Here are a few photos from around the party including some new projections on the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Country Bear Jamboree.
