We made it out to Animal Kingdom this Wednesday for a quick Rivers of Light construction update. Walls are up around the perimeter of the construction.
As we make our way towards Expedition Everest, the path narrows where work is ongoing on both sides of the path.
Late in the day there appears to be plenty of space, but it can get pretty crowded in front of the Expedition Everest entrance.
Walls around the area contain Himalayan proverbs and info about animals from the region.
Expedition Everest looks as fun as ever, and 1 hour before park close it was about a 15 minute wait.
Here’s a map of the construction, in green. The red cone on the left was our angle.
A super-wide panorama of the construction.

The right side of the construction seems to be further along.
A closer examination shows what appear to be low ledges rather than benches. I wonder if there will be a mix of seating and standing, or possibly standing only with a low ledge to place your Safari Amber.
The left side (nearest Everest from our vantage point) contains what appears to be a show control building. Progress seems to be slow if they’re shooting for a Spring/Summer 2016 timeline.
Making our way over near the bridge connecting the Expedition Everest area to the Finding Nemo theater area, we can see accessibility ramps are coming along.
Another closer examination of this photo shows what appear to be ledges rather than seating. I guess time will tell.
