The former Writers Stop area finally has a new name and theme. The Baseline Tap House is described as a cheerful corner pub specializing in beer and wines from California. The backstory on the space is that it used to be the Figueroa Printing Company, which was a mom-and-pop print house that had ties to the Disney studios in nearby Burbank. The space will retain many of the exposed walls and old printing equipment from its early days.
California craft ales, lagers and cider are the stars of the drink menu. Also on tap are California wines and some specialty cocktails. If you’re hungry, a small bites menu will include a Bavarian pretzel with mustard and beer-cheese fondue, spiced almonds or a charcuterie board featuring California cheeses.
No opening date has been announced, but Disney has said the new Grand Avenue area will open this Fall.
We’ll be back shortly with a new look at the area from the skies.
