As we walked around Disney’s Hollywood Studios last night, we couldn’t help but notice something was missing from the Echo Lake area. No, it wasn’t the water (that’s been drained for over a week). All of the palm trees have been cut down from the island that sits in the southern half of the lake.
The trees were presumably removed to allow for better views of the “giant Christmas tree centered on the water” during the holiday season.
A look back at the area, from the air, a month ago.
In addition to the palm tree removal, we noticed a new dirt access ramp for crews to work on the refurbishment of the area.
The work should be completed by the end of October.
