Bauernmarkt Farmer’s Market – 2018 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival
As part of our 2018 Epcot Flower and Garden coverage, we bring you the Outdoor Kitchen review for Bauernmarkt Farmer’s Market. Located at the Germany Pavilion, this Outdoor Kitchen features Bavarian bites.
Potato Pancakes – $4.25
Served with House-made Apple Sauce
A basic potato pancake. The house-made sauce was nice, but you can do better at this Outdoor Kitchen.
Potato Pancake – $4.50
Served with Caramelized Ham, Onions, and Herb Sour Cream
This was a more ambitious take on the potato pancake. The caramelized ham was delicious and was enough to provide for some in each bite of pancake. This was a solid offering, but falls in the shadow of the next item.
Toasted Pretzel Bread – $5.00
Topped with Black Forest Ham and Melted Gruyere Cheese
One of our top 8 favorite items, the Toasted Pretzel Bread makes a stop at Bauernmarkt highly recommended. A perfectly made pretzel is stuffed with cheese and then melted under even more cheese. The ham really completed the dish, making this a top 3 offering in the whole festival.
Warm Cheese Strudel – $4.25
Served with Mixed Berries
The strudel was warm and flaky. A nice mixed berry jam added necessary flavor to the dish.
Hugo-Charles de Fere “Organic” Brut ($9.50) and Ayinger Brau Weisse Hefeweizen ($4.50)
The brut reminded me a lot of the delicious Popping Bubbles Cocktail from the Festival of the Arts. It’s a good sip so long as you toss it before you hit the elderflower and mint sitting at the bottom. You can see the mixture line in the stem.
We’re also big fans of Hefeweizen. You’ll have a fruity undertone with an overall experience of wheat.
