Disney has shared a behind-the-scenes look at the Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster coming to Epcot. In the video, Disney drops a bunch of stats about the work of laying the foundation for the new roller coaster. Earlier today, we took a look at the newly unveiled themed construction walls now visible within Epcot.
Here’s a look at where the roller coaster (green) will be located in relation to the existing Universe of Energy pavilion (blue).
Here’s the finished foundation, representing what we see in green from the permit above. The lower left portion of the foundation represents where the red launch tunnel will meet the gravity building. This view is just slightly east (right) of the red launch tunnel.
The Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster will debut in time for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary in 2021 and replaces Ellen’s Energy Adventure.
