BREAKING: Major Disney Vacation Club Resale Restrictions Effective January 19th

According to Cast Members that we spoke with, there is a major change on the horizon for Disney Vacation Club resale restrictions.

Starting January 19th, there will effectively be two tiers of Disney Vacation Club Resorts as it relates to resale points purchased outside of Disney – Legacy Resorts and New Resorts. Legacy Resorts would be considered any of 14 existing resorts that are open now. New Resorts would be considered any of the resorts currently under construction, planned, or to be announced.

    Now, here’s the change:

Starting with any contracts submitted on or after January 19th, points purchased outside of Disney for any of the existing resorts will not be allowed to be used at any new resorts under construction; starting with Disney’s Riviera Resort. Any resale points purchased for Legacy Resorts would still be able to be used at any of the other Legacy Resorts.

In addition, any points purchased outside of Disney for any new resorts, will only be valid at that resort. The representitve that we spoke with said “starting with Riviera and every resort after that, when you buy resale points you will only be able to use the points JUST at the resort you buy and RCI nothing else.”
