Disneyland Paris Officially Bans Plastic Straws as Part of Environmental Initiative

Disneyland Paris has officially phased out the distribution of plastic straws as part of a company-wide initiative by Disney to remove single-use plastics from their parks and resorts. The ban went into effect on Thursday, just four days before Earth Day. The resort will use 100% biodegradable paper straws effective immediately.

“The protection of our environment is not only deeply rooted in our brand DNA, but it is also a lasting commitment of our company as we aim to reduce our environmental impact – a critical part of our strategic vision for the years to come,” Disneyland Paris president Natacha Rafalski said.

Disneyland has started to distribute paper straws at some of their quick service restaurants, but the rollout isn’t complete yet. Walt Disney World is expected to start their paper straw rollout soon.
