PHOTOS: Latest Look at International Gateway Arrival Experience Adjustments

Disney is in the process of updating the arrival experience at all four of its Walt Disney World theme parks. From tram adjustments at Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios to permits filed at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the entrance experience at the parks will be impacted for the next few months. Also bundled up with the main entrances is the International Gateway at Epcot. We made it out to the park yesterday to check out the work.

Walls are now up before you even enter the International Gateway plaza as concrete replacement is now underway.

We also see some significant bag check and park entrance adjustments. With most of the old bag check area behind walls and torn down, bag check has moved into the space next to the only functioning ticket window. The Friendships are still functioning to the right of the bag check area.

Past the ticket window, guests will be asked to stay to the right side of the walkway to the new, temporary park entrance checkpoint. The awning below used to extend all the way to the right before it was demolished recently.

Here’s a reverse view of the removed awning area.
