REVIEW, PHOTOS: Flamingo Cupcake Debuts at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

A brand new cupcake is now available at Creature Comforts in Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Let’s check it out!

    Flamingo Cupcake – $5.99

Yellow Cake filled with Pink Lemon Curd topped with Buttercream, Graham Cracker Crumbs and Chocolate Flamingos.

We found the Flamingo Cupcake at Creature Comforts despite the Walt Disney World website listing it at Restaurantosaorus.

The two chocolate flamingos make for a perfect Animal Kingdom photo op as long as you’re quick! They’re made out of white chocolate, so they’ll start melting quick. Thankfully Creature Comforts is only steps away from the Flamingo exhibit.

Inside, you’ll find a pink lemon curd which actually tastes like a pink lemonade. That flavor drives the cupcake forward with the graham cracker crumbs playing a lesser part. Overall, the flavor of the cupcake is actually quite unique and the flamingos on top are a fun touch. Overall, it’s a nice cupcake that offers just enough of a unique twist to earn a recommendation from us.

    1. The marble cake is actually a much better surprise than any filling. We had expected more white chocolate buttercream in the center, but were relieved to find the (well-themed) striped cake inside. This is solid cake throughout, which helps balance the sweet buttercream icing. As much as we love the white chocolate Simba cupcake from Pizzafari, this Zebra cupcake has a better balance between cake and frosting. The cupcake does come from a freezer case usually, so it is a nice cool snack. Eat it quickly, because your zebra will melt in this heat!
