Latest Look at Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure Construction – Facades and Sightlines

We made it out to Epcot today in the hot Florida sun to get an updated look at a few of the projects taking place around the park. Of course, Epcot is going through a lot of known changes right now, but Disney has teased even more announcements at the 2019 D23 Expo taking place this August. There’s no doubt that the Epcot of today will be vastly different than the Epcot of five or ten years from now.

Today, we’ll take a look at a project that has seemed to hum along quite nicely over the past couple of years – Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. Located behind the France pavilion as we know it, the expansion space is taking shape nicely.

We start from across the World Showcase Lagoon, checking out how the skyline of the France pavilion is changing.

We can start to see some of the yellow construction material peeking through the trees.

Another area where sightlines are impacted is next to, and inside of, the Morocco pavilion.

From the bridge that connects the France and United Kingdom pavilions, we can see a bit more of the facade that will hopefully provide a bit of natural depth to the skyline.

Of course, while our perspective is limited to the ground for the moment, we will be able to get a better view thanks to the nearby Disney Skyliner gondola system route that passes right past the expansion. The Disney Skyliner gondola system is slated to open this fall.

A new structure is getting a roof within the construction site.

Thanks to an aerial photo from @bioreconstruct, we get a better idea of where this building is located within the construction site. From the air, it appears that this building will house restrooms.

Moving on to the Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure facade now, we can see that the fiberglass sheathing has been applied to the previously exposed facade.

A closer look at some of the sections of the facade reveals what will likely be the attraction entrance or exit.

Moving from left to right, it’s easy to see what the finished product will look like once some theming has been applied.

While most of the facade appears to be three-dimensional, there are some two-dimensional elements as well, like the roofline and chimneys that we can see the outlines of.

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure will open at Epcot in 2020, with most estimates putting an opening date in the first half of the year.
