Never has the prospect of walking the streets of Batuu felt more real. As of today, the construction walls that have been keeping guests out of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge have been removed at Disneyland. Our friends at Try Everything Daily on Instagram noticed that the walls were down when visiting the park today and were kind enough to pass the photos and information along to us!
Entrances are now staffed with Cast Members to answer any questions guests may have, and benches as a way to block off the area. The lack of construction walls likely means that the land is no longer considered a construction zone. Cast Member previews and looks inside the land from Disney CEO Bob Iger also mean that the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run attraction is in a test and adjust phase.
Another layer of benches can be spotted in the tunnels that connect Frontierland and Fantasyland to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
In addition to the walls removed at ground level, the scrims that lined the Disneyland Railroad have been removed, giving us a quick glimpse inside the land.
While it may be exciting to see progress on the guest side of the Galaxy’s Edge tunnels, keep in mind that Disney has stated that there will be no preview events for guests such as soft openings.

[…] We know a land far, far, away is coming up on us at hyper speed, but the removal of the walls keeping guests out of Batuu is just more proof that it will be here before we know it. The construction walls have been replaced by benches and Cast Members guarding the entrances until the land officially opens next week. – https://blogmickey.com/2019/05/construction-walls-removed-at-star-wars-galaxys-edge-in-disneyland/ […]
