One of the projects that can easily fly under the radar at Walt Disney World is the bridge construction that will finally allow guests staying at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort to walk to Magic Kingdom.
As we noted back in July, this will be a swing bridge, with a pivot point on the Grand Floridian side of the canal that will open as needed to allow for the Electrical Water Pageant to use the canal.
This photo shows not only the bridge construction site, but also Cinderella Castle to the left and the Tron Lightcycle Run construction to the right.
Here’s a look at the swing bridge, staged and ready for installation. It also looks like a hole for the pivot point may have been created on the edge of the canal.
Disney hasn’t announced a completion date for the project, but we’re still months away judging by the construction done so far.
What is being done about crossing the canal adjacent to the Grand Floridian?
