A section of the Jamaica lot is unavailable today as crews work to strip and repave the lot after Disney Skyliner construction vehicles no longer need the space. For months, a section of the Jamaica lot has been used as storage for various types of construction vehicles for the nearby Disney Skyliner gondola system project.
The lot saw expected wear and tear from those types of vehicles and Disney is presumably repaving the lot as a result of the heavy use. As you can see in the photos below, this affects the portion of the lot closest to the Disney Skyliner gondola station at the resort and guests are advised to use adjacent lots as the work progresses. The construction site is very active and it looks like crews will be done in the next few days. If you have a trip scheduled to the resort more than a week from now, you should be unaffected. Here’s a look around at the work taking place.
The Disney Skyliner gondola system is scheduled to open to guests on September 29th.
