Disney Bans Third-Party Vendor Drop Offs at Bell Services for Walt Disney World Hotels (Strollers, ECVS, Groceries, and More)

Beginning October 1st, Disney will ban Bell Services drop offs by all third-party vendors. This includes, but is not limited to strollers, ECVs, and even groceries. Any reservations made prior to October 1st will be grandfathered in.

That said, Disney isn’t banning third-party vendors completely. Guests will still be able to meet with the third-party vendor that is making the delivery and accept whatever product is being delivered, but it must be done face-to-face. Guests will also have to meet with the third-party vendor to return the rental item, if applicable. This basically frees up Bell Services to only hold guest luggage and official vendor drop offs.

Disney has yet to release a public statement on the matter. We’ll update the story with more information as it becomes available.

    1. I am a guest who has been renting ECV’s thru Buena Vista Rentals, I have a scooter scheduled for October 31, thru Nov 4′ 2019. How is going to affect me getting off the magical express and pickup the scooter right at the luggage area? Is this another area that Disney is cutting back on services? Buena Vista Service is the most reasonable price wise and the best if there is a problem. Disney in house scooters are available at the parks and are to big to bring into the rooms at night for charging. The price per day is much more then I pay for entire 5 days. I would hope someone re-thinks is plan.

    2. My husband and I have rented wheelchairs in the past for use at the hotel and on buses and then rentied the ECVs at the parks. December will be my first trip without my husband (he passed away) and needing the power chair full time. I understand that Disney wants to free up space and staff time for other purposes, but there are some of us who continue to come to the resorts, even though it is extra trouble and expense to do so. Having to have these transactions take place face to face is somewhat problematic. I am thinking of the pick up policy especially. If the company does not arrive on time to pick up the chair and we need to board Magical Express, that would present a problem. I could have it picked up the night before but that would mean I would miss an entire night at the park, and it would be our last night, no less. I hope that by December perhaps another solution will be proposed.

    3. How stupid can the people at Disney be? Some people have mobility issues where they can only walk short distances. Just another reason to irratate people so they don’t want to spend their money at WDW. I really don’t get it. Their attendance and revenue is down and they keep coming up with ways to discourage people from going. Maybe this idea will be gone like to Powell.

    4. I have been a disney visitor annually for at east 25 years. In that time disney has eliminated parades at the parks, eliminated street shows at disney studios, charges for resort parking, eliminated free room delivery for packages purchased on site, cut way back on live entertainment in all the parks and resorts, eliminated free pics and pins at the after hour parties, etc. This is just the latest “less for more ” example which should drive old timers away. Maybe that is their intention. For Disney, customer service is no longer a priority.

    5. Jim, let’s not forget when the resort bus dropped you right off at the entrance to all the magic. Can you imagine someone needing an ECV and walking that distance to get it? They have hit rock bottom and they can’t figure out why their attendance has dropped. I don’t plan on returning any time soon. Too bad because I loved the old Disney World.

    6. I wonder how this impacts RV rentals and golf cart rentals at Ft Wilderness – or if now it’s just limited to “approved companies” that Disney works directly with because their golf cart fee is $60/ day and rentals from others are about half that. Same with RV Rentals if you shop around and are careful with reviews. This is like MGM Vegas which I despise where they won’t accept prime now groceries at bell services. This is particularly disasterous for DVC members in condos / villas who count on grocery delivery while at the parks to maximize time in the parks. WTG WDW keep it classy. The scooter issue is a serious problem especially at Port Orleans as I’ve heard ( no first hand experience) Probably won’t renew our annual passes and if this is the trend won’t stay on property esp if off site hotels are happy to oblige.
