First Snowfall Added to Sleeping Beauty Castle for 2019 Holiday Season

It’s beginning to feel a lot like October 17th! We may still be a couple weeks away from Halloween, but Sleeping Beauty Castle is getting into the Christmas spirit already. We have a look at the snowfall that has landed on Sleeping Beauty Castle thanks to our.happiest.adventures on Instagram!

It looks like Disney might actually be swapping out the roof completely with prefabricated rooftops. We can see the decorative capping elements missing from the rooftops that have the snowfall on them. We also can see the pixie dust has made its way onto the snow as well as some deeper blues in the normally white snow.

It’s possible that Disney decided to swap out the entire roof instead of just overlaying snow decoration on the existing rooftops after learning the damage that could be done to the rooftops during the installation and removal process. Disney just finished a full refurbishment of Sleeping Beauty Castle this summer, including replacing all the rooftops that were damaged from the 60th Anniversary decorations.

  1. Disneyland’s castle snow has always been full caps placed over the existing roof. They’ve never added just a snow-only layer to the castle. But that being said – these have been completely repainted to match the new color scheme and pixie dust sparkles.
