Epcot Entrance Garden Construction Update (Green Concrete Poured, Planters Take Shape, and More)

We made it out to Epcot this morning to get an updated look at some of the Future World projects taking place. From updated spiels that look towards the future to solved bag check headaches to wonderful views of construction projects, there are more reasons than ever to ride the Epcot monorail loop. So we decided to hop on board and get an updated look at the Epcot entrance garden construction.

As a reminder, here’s a look at what the entrance will look like when it’s completed early next year. As you can see, there will be some new planters constructed that will bring a much-needed garden walk feel to the front of the park. These sweeping green spaces, when combined with a reimagined fountain, will pay homage to the original park entrance.

Let’s take a look around the construction site. There’s quite a bit going on in this first look at the site. First, if you haven’t visited Epcot in a bit, you might be surprised to see just how much of the entrance experience is just walls. The walls go from right up next to the entrance tappoints on the right and around the planter area that has served as a welcome showcase for seasonal festivals. Second, we can also see the proper formation of a new planter on the bottom left. This is a new build and will form a nice garden when it’s completed.

Finally, it looks like Disney is adding a bit of color to the concrete pathway between the two planters. The concrete looks like it will be a green, possibly similar to the new pathway opened at Disney’s Animal Kingdom (story). According to the concept art at the beginning of the post, we can expect some color added to the pathways as part of the entrance overhaul.

Continuing on with the photo update, it doesn’t look like there is anything new to report on the fountain or surrounding area.

Here’s a reverse angle of the work.
