Tokyo Disneyland has implemented new security protocols at the park entrances to enhance the safety of guests visiting the theme parks.

Starting today, guests will find x-ray machines and metal detectors at the entrance to Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea theme parks as seen below. This is the second time that x-ray machines have been implemented at a Disney theme park, starting with Disneyland Paris.

Previously, Tokyo Disneyland Resort used manual bag checks at park entrances. X-ray machines generally speed up the security screening process and increase security versus manual bag checks.

Other Disney parks worldwide including Walt Disney World, Disneyland Resort, and Hong Kong Disneyland continue to use manual bag checks.
