Expanded Construction Walls Installed at Test Track During Refurbishment at Epcot

As you might be aware, Test Track has been closed for refurbishment since earlier this month and while we saw a modest amoumt of construction walls in our last update, there has been an expansion recently.

As explained to us back in October, the ride will undergo software upgrades during the routine refurbishment. Cast Members indicated that there will be no visible changes to the ride or experience, but that the software upgrade should improve the reliability of the attraction.

That said, the construction walls now run the full length of the entrance, as well as a small area between the entrance at the SIMporium gift shop.

A small stage is set up in front of the attraction as a “bad weather backup” for some of the Festival of the Arts Acts. While rain this time of year isn’t common, Test Track has a sprawling canopy that would allow guests and performers to be out of the rain.

Here’s a look at the area near the SIMporium behind construction walls.

Test Track is current scheduled to reopen to guests on February 27, 2020.
