More Epcot Construction Walls Cut Off Central Future World Walkway; Force Use of Bypasses

Some new construction walls have popped up at Epcot, forcing guests to utilize the newly expanded Future World walkways.

As you can see in the photos below, the construction walls that have surrounded the long since demolished Fountain of Nations have been extended to a section of the under refurbishment MouseGear structure. By adding these 30-40′ of walls, Disney has cut off the main artery that guests are use to using to walk from Spaceship Earth towards World Showcase. As a result, newly expanded walkways have opened, the most recent one having opened earlier this morning.

That said, we’re not at peak construction wall status at Epcot just yet as the Innoventions East and West breezeways remain open. As seen in the updated Epcot map, they will eventually not be in use at all. It can’t be long now.

Let’s take a look at the changes!

The walls on the south side of the former Fountain of Nations area have also been expanded to cut off traffic through the “Epcot Spine”.

Here’s a comparison of what it use to look like.

    1. Came in on the monorail yesterday and honestly looking down at the construction that’s got Epcot torn up, it’s a little traumatizing and devastating. Yes, the park is in need of massive updates but pretty much all of the front half of the park at the same time?? 🙁 Sad
