The Haunted Mansion has had an uncharacteristically bad run at Magic Kingdom. From an extended downtime late last month to a rough day today that has seen the attraction closed since park opening.
According to Cast Members we spoke with, the attraction is very likely going to be closed for the rest of the day. As a matter of fact, Cast Members were uncertain if the attraction would be open in the next few days. The ride closed last night around 9:30pm and hasn’t reopened.
We’ll continue to keep an eye on the situation as crews work to get the attraction operational.
UPDATE: We’ve received more details about what went wrong to cause the closure.
What source told you it is down indefinitely? It makes no mention of it even in this article…
Your headline is horribly misleading. You should change it…
FYI, “indefinitely” doesn’t mean “it could be 5 minutes, or it could be 10… Who knows!” Indefinitely, in common parlance, means “for a long time, possibly forever”. So please don’t post an article saying a ride is “closed indefinitely”, when what you mean is “for at least the next several days”.
Clickbait inaccurate title. Shame on you for how misleading this is. Ride down with unknown repair times that could last the week is not the same as being closed possibly permanently.
I’m going to echo the rest of these comments here and point out how misleading the headline is. Found this article through my recommended news feed, I’ve blocked this site for future recommendations since this article is either intentionally clickbait-y or (if it’s a mistake) your writers don’t understand the words they’re using.
I love disney not go against it
What a piss poor click bait of heading. No wonder I don’t read your crap articles.
This is click bait. BS. Don’t say indefinitely. I was at MK today and a lead said they hope to be up and going within next 48 hrs. Stop making click bait
Well you got my click…maybe just a lil quicker than normal! LoL! “Indefinitely” seems a bit excessive for the article content blogmickey 🙂
Actually, indefinitely means “not precise or exact” or “undetermined.” The word is used correctly in the headline.
Haunted Mansion Closed Indefinitely at Magic Kingdom
Indefinitely, really?
Nothing more than click bait.
Extremely misleading click bait.
As per told by the ghouls and ghost, the hauntings of the Haunted Mansion appeared to be in fixed state of pause. We will keep the living informed when you may tresspass again, I mean visit muhahaha!
There is this thing called a dictionary, you should probably look up certain words before you post them, like indefinitely! Learn the meaning before you put something out there , you’re just trying to grab attention.
Exactly!!! Simply click bait!!
Agree with others. Headline is misleading. “Closed indefinitely” typically means weeks or months, often ending in permanent closure. But I suspect you already know that.
Wow, there are some interesting folks commenting.
Y’all are a little too worked up about stuff chill the fluck out, it’s just a report about an ancient broken ride at Disney.
Get a life!
~cant believe I took minutes out of my life to make a comment to Disney dweebs~
I’ve got to agree with GB. The word “indefinitely” is used correctly. That’s the english language for you! Fraught with ambiguity! Move on, your boarding group is about to expire. 🙂
Temporarily would have been a more appropriate word. That’s just my opinion 🙂
Wtf, this is so clickbait! Having a ride be closed for a few days DOES NOT mean it’s closed permanently.
Wtf! This is so clickbait! Just because a ride is closed for a bit it DOES NOT mean it’s permanent. Check your sources, for Pete’s sake.
Wow hope they get it fixed before our visit next month!
click bait
Yes. I agree I literally gasped!!! Don’t mess with WDW fans like that!!! Not cool man, not cool
WTH! You said indefinitely and it was very upsetting sense i was looking forward to this ride while visiting WDW in 2 weeks. You made it sound as if it was closed down forever! ?
What some people will write for a click. Tisk tisk. Reword your title, dude. Your inaccurate headline makes me want to boycott your articles in the future.
Walt Disney the Magic Kingdom hasnt been the same in the last few years. All the changes theyve made took alot of the fun out of it. If there is anything that needs changing is the food, not the attractions. I suppose like everything else nothing stays the same. In this case they should have left the Magic Kingdom alone, its was fine as it was.
A better title would be: “Haunted Mansion at Magic Kingdom closed for an indeterminate amount of time”
Saying indefinite makes people think that the ride is being taken out although many Magic Kingdom rides have been taken out like this. The Mansion is a staple ride and wouldn’t just be shutdown and removed suddenly without word.
Yahoo is so deceptive next to go the way of others like My Space lol
BS Clockbait. I’m blocking your blog so I don’t have to see this nonsense again
Failer to say which Disney park … California or Florida. I’m blocking you. Plus I agree with the others poor poor writing.?
It was my favorite as a Child. Hope they fix it
More clickbait crap. Poor journalism from someone who is obviously desperate for a story/attention.
Very misleading….shame…shame…shame
I just wanted to say I also blocked this site from my news feed. Sensationalist, clickbait titles are not something I find valuable.
Click bait all the way. Now blocking blogmickey.com. can’t stand this stuff.
That comment is ABSOLUTELY BS
I’m not going to have ANYTHING to do with THIS sight……..
Maybe you should get your facts straight….. BETTER yet keep your unreliable comments to yourself or stay the HELL AWAY FROM anything that involves Disney World…….
I get the impression that some people in these comments don’t know what the word “indefinitely” means.
It does *not* mean that the ride will be closed for a long time.
It means that it is unknown how long the ride will be closed.
Therefore, the title is not clickbait. The title is factually correct. As it says in the article, “Cast Members were uncertain if the attraction would be open in the next few days”. Thus the ride is closed indefinitely.
Some of you should search the meaning of indefinitely before making such awful comments… the word means “for an unlimited or unspecified amount of time”. So actually the word is used properly in the title. If the article used the word ‘forever’ then that would mean that it is closed for all time. I would suggest knowing the correct definition of a word, instead of the commonly used incorrect definition, prior to commenting!
I know that this is echoing what many people have said, but this title made me nearly have a heart attack. The word may have been used correctly, but indefinitely tends to imply an extensive amount of time rather than just a few days. Kindly adjust the title.
The actual definition of indefinitely is an unlimited or unspecified time. If you take it to be longer than that’s on you
The definition of indefinitely means unlimited or unspecified. If you take that to mean longer then that’s on you.
Disney World or Disneyland?
Garbage clickbait blog. Congratulations on contributing nothing of value.
Hope Disney sues you!
Shame on YOU for this clickbait article! Disgusting!
Great job getting these morons all worked up, nice title, made me click, that is the idea correct LMAO
Title is quite misleading (closed for a couple days is not equal to “closed indefinitely”) and leads to me believe the author was desperate enough for clicks to resort to clickbait. Removing this website from my feed going forward.
Really lame. Will never bother clicking on any other thing i ever see from here.
Can anyone personally say if Corona virus has impacted attendance at any of the parks?
Definition of Indefinitely: “unspecified period of time.”
The word can be applied correctly in his title, a little out of context but it’s not a lie. As a journalist it’s key to grab the attention of your reader within the first few seconds. Don’t be upset because the writer of the article did a good job of catching your attention. In the words of a wise spaceman … “To indefinitely and beyond!”
I was there last week and twice in both parks it has definitely NOT been impacted. Wait time for Cars ride 90 minutes on Thursday. Unfortunately for us we found out too late that Sundays are the best time to go. We did take our own disinfectant wipes to wipe things before touching. I do feel Disney should make more of an effort in keeping up with that because I didn’t see any kind of cleaning up.
@Jennifer Ramirez I was at Disneyland in Anaheim, Ca last week and twice in both parks it has definitely NOT been impacted.
So sad to see a bunch of people who don’t understand the meaning of a basic English word criticizing an author for having the audacity to use the word correctly.
Wow, criticized for proper grammar. What’s next?
The word is used properly
Some people need to learn the language apparently.
Adjective – lasting for an unknown or unstated length of time
