Governor DeSantis Has Not Approved a Walt Disney World Reopening Plans Yet

In a 5pm press conference, Mayor Jerry Demings stated that while he sent off a letter of endorsement to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, the Governor has not signed off on Walt Disney World’s plan to reopen yet.

As a reminder, Disney still needs final approval from Governor DeSantis before they can officially open on July 11th.

Disney outlined their plans to reopen in front of the Orange County Task Force and received a letter of endorsement from Mayor Demings hours later. In today’s press conference, Demings said that he anticipates hearing back from Governor DeSantis soon.

As a reminder, Disney has stated that they plan on opening Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom on July 11th. EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios are planned to reopen July 15th. Again, all of these plans still need to be signed by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
