The Imagine and Wonder parking lots at EPCOT have some activity going on as crews construct tents for the upcoming Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend presented by runDisney. This year will mark the return of the marathon since the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the theme parks and special events back in March 2020. The Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend is the largest event that runDisney operates and runners from around the country will come for the most magical 26.2 miles on earth.

The Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend acts as the unofficial end of the holidays (and higher crowds) at Walt Disney World. The Walt Disney World Marathon begins with a 5k on January 6th and continues through January 9th.

In addition to the work taking place at the EPCOT parking lot (which acts as the end of the race), there is work taking place along the Walt Disney World roadways that the runners will use.
