According to Anika Noni Rose, the voice of Tiana from Princess and the Frog, the Splash Mountain overhaul is going to open in 2024. This is not confirmation from Disney directly, but it is the first time that we’ve heard of an opening timeframe from anyone (likely) associated with the project.
Rose was asked on Live with Kelly and Ryan if Disney was making a Princess and the Frog attraction to which she responded, “They are making a ride, it will be out in 2024.”
As of today, Splash Mountain remains open to guests in its original form and there has been no closing date announced for the extensive work that will need to take place to transform it into a Princess and the Frog-themed attraction.
