Disney Park Passes Remain Widely Available for Thanksgiving Week at Disney World

As we get ready to kick off Thanksgiving Week at Walt Disney World, we wanted to take a look at the current Disney Park Pass reservation availability.

We’ll start with day guest and resort guest availability. Surprisingly, there is quite a bit of availability at present, with just select dates sold out for Magic Kingdom and even fewer sold-out dates for Disney’s Hollywood Studios. EPCOT and Disney’s Animal Kingdom have no sold-out dates as of publish time.

On the Annual Passholder side of the equation, there isn’t a single sold-out date during Thanksgiving Week and only a handful of sold-out dates in December for select parks.

Disney recently issued a statement about expected limited availability of Disney Park Pass reservations, but that doesn’t seem to have materialized in a widespread fashion yet. We anticipate more dates will sell out for day guests and resort guests in late December.

Of course, the question is: will widespread availability for Thanksgiving Week translate to lower crowds? Essentially, does the availability mean that there are fewer guests interested in visiting, or did Disney World expand capacity compared to prior years? We think it’s the latter, with capacity not quite to 2019 figures, but certainly higher than 2021.

As we’ve heard countless times now, Disney doesn’t plan on returning to “full capacity” like they had in 2019, but they will expand capacity as metrics such as ride and show availability allows. For example, Disney’s Hollywood Studios might have a higher capacity now that Fantasmic! is back than it would have had during the summer. As more attractions open such as TRON Lightcycle Run at Magic Kingdom, and the World Celebration area in EPCOT, Disney will adjust its maximum desired capacity at each park respectively.

In short, while Disney Park Pass availability is nice to see this “late” in the game for Thanksgiving Week, we’d still plan on higher than average wait times and larger crowds than what was experienced in the first couple of weeks of November.
