Disney World and Disneyland Cast Members and retirees can now access Disney PhotoPass Lenses for free through January 1, 2023. Access to Disney PhotoPass Lenses is normally only available to guests who purchase the Disney Genie+ service. However, for a limited time this holiday season, Cast Members also have access to the service.

Disney PhotoPass Service is offering a whole new way to capture the magic of Walt Disney World Resort right from your mobile device. Explore a special collection of Lenses featuring some of your favorite Disney characters and Disney Parks icons—available with the purchase of Disney Genie+ service.

A select number of these Lenses will only be accessible in designated areas of the parks, while others can be enjoyed across the Resort. So, whether you’re unwinding in your Disney Resort hotel room, traveling on the Disney Skyliner or strolling around Disney Springs, you’ll be able to interact with a variety of themed effects, transforming yourself—and the world around you! Plus, keep the fun going at home, where you can enjoy select Lenses for up to 45 days after the last day of your Genie+ service entitlement.

How to Access Disney PhotoPass Lenses in 3 Easy Steps

Step 1: Purchase Disney Genie+ service on the day of your visit, starting at 7:00 AM (subject to availability). 

Step 2: Upon entering a park, open the My Disney Experience app and tap on the “More” menu at the bottom of the home screen. 

Step 3: Tap on “Disney PhotoPass Lenses” to find a special AR (augmented reality) camera, which will give you access to the Lenses. Please note: You will need to allow access to your device’s camera and location.

Important Details

• After purchasing Disney Genie+ service, Walt Disney World Guests can access many Disney PhotoPass Lenses in the My Disney Experience app as soon as they enter the park. Select Disney PhotoPass Lenses are accessible only within designated areas of Walt Disney Resort. Other Disney PhotoPass Lenses will remain accessible in the My Disney Experience app until 5:59 AM Eastern Time on the 45th day after using your Disney Genie+ service purchase; certain states and localities are excluded.
• Many Disney PhotoPass Lenses use technology that detects the coordinates of key points on a Guest’s face and/or hands. These Lenses may be used only by Guests 18 years of age and older, who have consented to use of this technology. Therefore, Guests unable to provide such consent, as well as Guests under 18 years of age will have fewer Lenses available to use.
• Use of Disney PhotoPass Lenses is subject to the Terms and Conditions.
• Disney PhotoPass Lenses are not included with Memory Maker or Memory Maker One Day.
• Disney Genie+ service for Walt Disney World Guests does not include downloads of a Guest’s Disney PhotoPass photos or videos that were captured by photographers and onboard attractions.
