JULY 20 CLOSING DATE NOW POSTED
When we covered this refurbishment in March, Disney had only committed to a mid-July start without listing a specific date. That date is now on the books. Hours listed on the Walt Disney World website show the Grand Floridian Cafe closing starting July 20.
The cafe sits on the first floor of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and the refurbishment is expected to bring a visual refresh in line with other recent updates at the resort.
HOW LONG WILL THE WORK LAST?
This is a long one. Disney has said the cafe will stay closed through the end of October, which puts the timeline at roughly three months. A reopening sometime in November is the likely outcome, though Disney has not confirmed a return date.
WHERE TO FIND BRUNCH
Brunch fans, breathe easy. The Grand Floridian Cafe is a go-to brunch spot, and that service continues during the closure. Disney is relocating brunch to Cítricos, the signature restaurant upstairs, for the duration of the refurbishment. Every other dining location at the resort stays open as usual.
Disney has also noted that guests may see or hear refurbishment work during the day and may need to take alternate paths through the area.
