The newly transformed Disney Vacation Club building is now open and accepting guests at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. DVC took over the Big Pine building that used to contain normal guest rooms, but now has all-new “Resort Studio” rooms and is part of the Disney Vacation Club offering at the resort. Earlier today, we took a tour of the newly refurbished building and a room tour to give you a look at what to expect!

We’ll start with a look at the lobby and hallways – all newly refurbished at the Big Pine building. Crews were still working on the exterior of the building as construction wraps up. As part of the refurbishment, the shingles on the roof were completely replaced.

First, here’s a look back at an average guest lobby at Grand Floridian.

Here’s a look at the all-new Resort Studio room type. Other room types remain and will be refreshed.

  1. like the subtle Mary Poppins but the bathroom not being separate from the shower is a major downside. I will always stay in a resort with separate shower.
