Adult Female Black Bear Safely Captured at Magic Kingdom

According to an update from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), an adult female black bear has been safely captured at Magic Kingdom. The bear was spotted in a tree earlier today, and captured in a wooded area away from guests along the northern section of the Rivers of America at Magic Kingdom. The bear will be relocated to an area in or around the Ocala National Forest, according to the FWC.

The FWC says in most cases, it is best for bears to be given space and to move along on their own, but given this situation, staff have captured the animal and are relocating the bear out of the park to an area in or around the Ocala National Forest.

All attractions have reopened with the exception of the Walt Disney World Railroad, which we’re told will remain closed for the rest of the day. Adventureland, Frontierland, and Liberty Square were all closed for more than three hours this morning as the bear was spotted and captured.
