While visiting Disney’s BoardWalk earlier today, we were able to capture the installation of the first of two signs for the upcoming The Cake Bake Shop restaurant and bakery. When it opens this year, The Cake Bake Shop will not only be a bakery, but also a table service restaurant, with plans to serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Waterside strolls will be extra special with the opening of The Cake Bake Shop, a new table-service restaurant with glistening cocktails and a specially curated menu. Treat your senses to innovative and seasonal cuisine, including elegant favorites and delicious surprises.
Come enjoy breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, desserts and cocktails in an exquisite atmosphere filled with magic and wonder while you take in views of Crescent Lake.
Back to our visit today. We were strolling by the location, planning on a normal photo update, when we spotted what appeared to be the sign. With crews on a nearby lift, it seemed likely that they would install the sign today.
Just before 11am, a portion of the construction wall was removed, and crews rolled the sign into position for a second lift to hoist it into place.
Thanks to the removal of the construction wall, we could get a glimpse inside the bakery portion of the venue. From what we could tell, drywall was installed throughout, but work remained for the ceilings.
It took about 90 minutes or so for crews to install the sign into a recessed portion of the exterior of the building.
Around 1pm, the cover for the sign was removed, and we got our first look at The Cake Bake Shop sign.
A second sign was planned to be installed today. We’ll swing by the location in a few days to get an updated look. With the signs installed, crews can focus on finishing theming for the facade in the coming weeks.
An opening date for The Cake Bake Shop has not yet been announced.
