Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster to Reopen Next Week at Hollywood Studios, 3 Weeks Earlier Than Expected

According to the Walt Disney World website, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster will reopen next week – more than 3 weeks earlier than expected. It’s possible that Disney is pushing to get the ride open in time for the Fourth of July, although crowds failed to materialize last year for the holiday.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Reopening Date

According to Walt Disney World, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is scheduled to reopen on July 1st. The ride was previously scheduled to reopen on July 27th.

The attraction closed in early January for what will turn out to be a roughly 6-month refurbishment. Disney World has previously called the refurbishment “routine”, but rumors suggest that the work was overdue. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster has had several periods of unexpected downtime in recent years.

This is the second year in a row that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster has experienced a multi-month refurbishment. Last year, the coaster was closed from late February to late May. This year’s closure was twice as long, suggesting more substantial work on the ride. It is rumored that the ride system itself received upgrades during this year’s refurbishment.
