The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Central Florida today, with Feels Like temperatures expected up to 110°. The heat advisory will go into effect at 11am and run through 6pm today. According to the National Weather Service, hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
The National Weather Service issued the following advice in the advisory:
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
Keep in mind that Disney World offers complimentary ice water at quick service locations. When visiting the parks, we make sure to stop at least once per hour to hydrate and cool down with some air conditioning. It will be imperative to stay hydrated and take breaks during a visit to Walt Disney World this summer.
