Burudika will return to Disney’s Animal Kingdom starting next week – five years after the entertainment offering had its “final” performance at the theme park. Burudika was part of a number of acts that were cut in 2019 and the years prior as part of a multi-year effort by Disney to try and save money. Those budget cutbacks continued and even accelerated when COVID-19 shut down the theme parks in Spring 2020. Disney has started to bring some area entertainment back to the parks, but not nearly at the scale that they need to be doing.
Since 2019, we’ve seen Burudika perform in a very limited capacity as Wassalou at Disney Springs, but the entertainment offering has never returned to Disney’s Animal Kingdom…until next week.
Burudika Returns to Disney’s Animal Kingdom
According to members of Burudika, the act will return to Disney’s Animal Kingdom starting September 29th and they will perform 5 days per week, Thursday through Monday. It’s unclear if Burudika’s return will be for a limited time or if they will be back as a “permanent” act in the Africa section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
We have reached out to Walt Disney World for more information, and we will update this article once more details are known.
It’s wonderful to see Walt Disney World investing in these types of atmospheric entertainment acts after many of the offerings were either subject to cutbacks before COVID-19 or were not brought back following the pandemic. We hope that Disney continues to bring back the type of area entertainment that was the lifeblood of Walt Disney World’s theme parks such as the Citizens of Hollywood, Citizens of Main Street USA, Swotu Waya, the Pandora Rangers, and many, many more!
