Multiple Epic Universe Annual Passholder Preview Dates Now “Sold Out”

As Universal Orlando Resort prepares to host Annual Passholder previews of Epic Universe, multiple dates are now unavailable for purchase. For the purposes of this article, we’ll call days with no availability “sold out”, but there is some distinction to be made. Here’s the latest.

Epic Universe Passholder Previews Begin Selling Out

As of publish time, there are multiple Annual Passholder preview dates unavailable for purchase. Here’s the latest availability. Any dates with pricing mean that tickets are still available for purchase:

  • April 26 | SOLD OUT
  • April 27 | $131
  • April 28 | $123

Now for some commentary. Universal Orlando Resort has, perhaps inadvertently, surfaced data on ticket sales and capacity. The information is out there and reliable, although we hesitate to link to anything simply because I’m not sure that Universal meant to publish some of the data. Either way, we have a good idea about ticket sales capacity and availability. The “sold out” data above is from the Universal Orlando website. The data referenced below should be considered “unofficial”, although we consider it reliable.

In short, we expect that Universal Orlando has set a ticket capacity for Annual Passholders somewhere in the 4,200 to 6,000 range, depending on the day. It is important to remember that Passholders are not the only group that can purchase preview tickets, so we shouldn’t look at these numbers as overall park capacity. It’s unknown how many tickets have been allocated for hotel guests.

Beyond the topline ticket capacity figures, we also know the number of tickets sold (roughly). As you might imagine, weekends are more popular, with somewhere between 80% and 100% of total capacity sold as of this morning. That said, some midweek dates have only sold between 20-50% of overall ticket capacity, based on the “leaked” data.

Back to the recent “sold out” dates and our skepticism. Until very recently, April 17-19 had availability. Our thinking is that instead of Universal Orlando hitting the ticket capacity on those dates, they simply marked those dates as “sold out”, perhaps to offer more tickets to guests staying at the hotels, or to manage demand in the early preview dates.

Either way, that’s good news for Passholders who will be attending, because it looks like Universal Orlando should be keeping crowds quite “low” and manageable during the preview period. That said, many guests will want to do the same things during the preview period, with Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry and Monsters Unchained likely being top draws for crowds.

While we’re skeptical of early dates being truly sold out, there are two dates that we are pretty confident have hit ticket capacity. April 26th and May 3rd are likely true sold-out dates, with Passholders flocking to the weekend dates. Other dates that will likely sell out soon include April 20, April 27, and May 4th. Other dates have at least 30-40% of tickets remaining to be sold as of publish time.
