It looks like Disney has an answer to their removal of the Osborne Lights in the form of “Sunset Seasons Greetings” a new projection mapping experience that will take place along Sunset Boulevard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The show will run from November 9th to December 31st.
The show will take place continuously throughout the evening, featuring “character moments” on the billboards, such as:
- Mickey and Minnie looking back at a hometown Christmas as the scene transforms into a romanticized, Norman Rockwell-inspired town. The scene starts in black and white before slowly changing into color.
- The Toy Story characters will guess which new toys are coming this Christmas. The scene will become covered in holiday wrapping paper.
- The Swedish Chef from The Muppets babbling as only he does. The scene turns into giant gingerbread houses.
- Olaf dreaming about his holiday wish as iconic music plays. The scene freezes over into a Frozen winter wonderland and is complete with dancing Aurora Borealis lights and projected falling snow.
In addition to the “Sunset Seasons Greetings” experience, the following changes will also come to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Enhanced Decor around Echo Lake
Extra-large ornaments, colorful garlands and a giant Christmas tree centered on the water will make Echo Lake the merriest of places this holiday season. Even Dinosaur Gertie will be dressed for the occasion with a dino-Santa hat.
Additions to ‘For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration.’
For a limited time all-new songs from Disney’s new animated short “Olaf’s Frozen Adventure” will be added to the show, with appearances from Olaf himself.
