PHOTOS: Pandora – The World of Avatar Prepares for Thanksgiving Crowds

Not since the opening weeks of operation have we seen the type of crowd control techniques used at Pandora – The World of Avatar as we did yesterday.

Stanchions and benches are in place outside of the land should Disney need to close access to the land due to capacity concerns.

There is also a sign notifying guests that the land may close.

Here’s a look back at some of the lines we encountered during the opening days.

Inside the land, extended queues are in place from rope drop. The queue on the left of the below photo is for Na’vi River Journey and is set up all the way to the entrance to the land.

Over at Satu’li Canteen, planters are being used to block additional entrances, forcing guests to pass a Cast Member informing them of limited seating and that access is only allowed for those eating a meal there.

Elsewhere, Banshees have begun to be sold at a pop-up shop, alleviating crowds at the Windtraders gift shop.

While crowds are certainly elevated, it appears that Disney is trying to get ahead of the game by setting up these measures early as crowds grow through the week.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated of any official operational notices. As for now, be prepared for long lines and large crowds this Thanksgiving around the Walt Disney World parks.
