Leaked Blueprints Reportedly Reveal Spider-Man Attraction Details for Disney California Adventure and Walt Disney Studios Park

Leaked blueprints have hit the web that reportedly reveal the plans for a Spider-Man dark ride coming to both Disney California Adventure and Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris. The leak also includes a rendering for the exterior of the building. Facebook page OutsidEars posted the plans.

We’ll start with a description of the experience, as released by Disney.

Both [Disney California Adventure and Walt Disney Studios Park] will feature an exciting new attraction where guests of all ages can join the heroes in action. Disney is expanding their story universe by creating a new organization, the Worldwide Engineering Brigade, to be our setting for this experience. Though WEB is grounded in classic characters like Peter Parker, it is an organization that we can all be a part of – one that invites us to engage with these iconic heroes like never before.

Besides introducing WEB, Disney will debut a brand-new, cutting-edge interface as part of this fun, interactive attraction. Through a blend of never-before-seen technology and practical effects, guests will get to experience for themselves what it is like to have the abilities of a Super Hero.

This adventure will blend seamlessly into the story of the new lands Disney is creating at both Disney California Adventure park and Walt Disney Studios park, where there will be surprises at every turn!

    Spider-Man Attraction Facade

We’ll first take a look at the facade exterior. The photos below are just renderings, but we’ve also included the concept art released officially by Disney.

This rendering shows what will likely be the standby entrance area. Of course, it lacks all of the finishing touches that we see above in the concept art, but it appears to be roughly the same angle.

    Standby Entrance

Another angle reveals the brickwork that will likely be found throughout the land.

    Spider-Man Attraction Blueprints

In addition to the renderings, OutsidEars also released the blueprints for the attraction. It’s these blueprints that give us the best look at what the attraction will end up being like.

First, let’s take a look at an overview of the attraction. The below blueprints shows a ride layout very similar to Toy Story Mania at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Let’s take a closer look at some of the notable areas of the blueprints. We’ll start with the queue. The blueprints reveal plans for standby, FastPass, and single rider queues. It looks like it will be a series of switchback queues, with both exterior and interior portions. We can also see two pre-show rooms.

Next, we’ll take a look at the loading and unloading area. It appears that load and unload will happen at the same point. As you can see in the bottom left of the image, guests will exit through a gift shop.

Finally, let’s take a look at the track layout. It is in the same style as Toy Story Mania, with cars moving through a series of corridors that will likely have screens where guests will be able to interact with the storyline.

Also included in the leak was an overview of the upcoming Marvel land and how this attraction fits into the space at Walt Disney Studios Park.

Below, we’ve included a satellite image to show you what the space looks like now at Walt Disney Studios Park, and then we’ve taken the blueprint above and set it over the satellite image to give you a better idea of where this attraction is going. It’s essentially taking over the space for the now-closed Armageddon – Les Effet Speciaux, and will be near the entrance to the upcoming Marvel land.
