While watching some of the Grand Avenue construction the other day, we noticed an increase in activity over near the rear of The Great Movie Ride show building. We noticed demolition crews carrying and transferring pieces from the ride into a dumpster to be taken off-site.
First, a look at the area in question. As you can see in the following photos, there is a bay door on the rear of the show building that lets crews empty the attraction. We’ve highlighted the building and access road that cuts through Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story Land.
We noticed them carrying off what appeared to be set pieces from the Alien scene of the attraction.

The Great Movie Ride closed on August 13th, and will be replaced by Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway.
