Work is progressing nicely on Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Earlier today we took a look at the early stages of rockwork framing on both the Battle Escape and Millennium Falcon attraction buildings, but now we have a new permit filed with the state for “Project D – 1004W Ride System Installation”.
While the permit doesn’t state which ride it is for, we’re guessing it’s for the Millennium Falcon attraction, as it seems to be further along than the Battle Escape attraction. Pure speculation, but based on our latest aerial photo of the Millennium Falcon attraction, it appears that one of the four ride bays is close to being fully enclosed. It would reason that the ride system could be installed once the building is enclosed and safe from environmental impacts.
Here’s a look from September 20th at the structure.
Of course, our above theory is purely based on speculation, but it’s the best educated guess we have. Either way, this is a big milestone in the project. The permit has been filed and work can now begin on the installation of one of the ride systems in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is scheduled to open in 2019 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
