Catherine Powell, the former President of Disney Parks Western Region, has offered a farewell filled with advice and parting words after seemingly being let go by the company. The LinkedIn post, which can be read in its entirety here, signs off by stating the following.
Of course, the line about “learning” she was leaving Disney all but confirms a firing, but corporate customs typically prefer a “stepping down” verbiage. For his part, Bob Chapek, chairman of Disney’s Parks, Experiences and Products division, said that it was a mutual decision. Chapek went on to say that Powell’s position had become extraneous, with the heads of resorts now reporting directly to him.
Either way, Powell was one of the most beloved and respected executive by both Cast and Disneyland Paris guests in her tenure and will be missed.
