Fencing Installed at Grand Floridian to Create Secure “Bubble” for NBA Players

With yesterday’s official announcement that the NBA would finish their season at the Walt Disney World Resort and the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex, Disney has begun work to create a secure “bubble” at one of the resorts that will be used to house players, staff, and coaches.

Scott Gustin posted that fencing was being installed around the Grand Floridian Resort this morning to create a secure bubble that will both keep foot traffic from neighboring resorts out, and keep the NBA players, staff, and coaches in.

For those unfamiliar with the layout of the resort, it is accessible by foot from Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, which will be open to guests. This fencing will create a barrier to allow the Grand Floridian to meet the requirements of creating a “bubble” for the NBA.

    1. The DVC part of Grand Floridian is supposed to be open. I wonder what amenities will be available for people staying there.

    2. Disney is also currently installing tall chain link fencing along the back side of the Yacht Club resort. We are staying at the Boardwalk Villas and can see and hear them across Crescent Lake installing the fencing.

    3. This is absolutely tacky. Its all about their agenda. Pay more more more and get less less less. No parades, no fireworks, no character dining, no eating at other places. But come and have a magical time. Um just nooooooooooooooooo
