Grand Floridian Walkway to Magic Kingdom Nearly Completed, Connected to Monorail Station

|

While visiting Magic Kingdom today, we noticed that work on the Grand Floridian walkway has progressed nicely since the theme parks reopened. As you can see in the photos below, a walkway connects the path to the Magic Kingdom monorail station and a temperature check tent has been installed.

Perhaps the most interesting part of the work is this temporary walkway and tent. It would suggest that use of the pathway is potentially imminent, but the pathway connects to the Grand Floridian within the NBA “bubble”. Will the pathway be used by NBA players or staff to attend some of the upcharge events at Magic Kingdom? Cast Members that we spoke with weren’t sure yet, and with more work left to get the pathway open, a timeline for opening is unknown.

Further down the walkway, both bridges are now installed and lighting installation appears to be the next step.

At the Grand Floridian, the pathway is blocked.
