Disney Accelerates Polynesian Village Entrance Overhaul, Porte Cochere Takes Shape

Typically, we can wait a week or two before providing updates on a construction project at Walt Disney World (we’re looking at you, EPCOT), but Disney has a July deadline to hit with the refreshed Polynesian Village resort entrance experience, and they have accelerated the work when compared to recent construction timelines of late.

As a reminder, here’s a look at the concept art for the refreshed arrival experience at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

Disney has plans to completely rebuild the monorail station and main entrance structure – essentially taking everything down to just dirt earlier this year. Now, the monorail station is taking shape, theming elements are obvious, and the first supports for the porte cochere are in place. Here’s a look around the construction site.
