Hong Kong Disneyland Temporarily Shut Down Following Suspected COVID-19 Case

Following a suspected COVID-19 case at the park, Hong Kong Disneyland was closed Wednesday, November 17 to ensure that all Cast Members will be able to complete a compulsory COVID-19 test.

The government issued a compulsory testing notice requiring any persons who were present at the park at any time during the period from 11:00am to 6:00pm on Nov 14 (Sun) to undergo compulsory testing for COVID-19 on or before Nov 18 (Thu).

In an abundance of caution, Hong Kong Disneyland Park will be closed on Nov 17 (Wed) to ensure relevant Cast Members can complete the test sooner. Guests who planned to visit the park on Nov 17 are advised to visit on another day.

Prior to the closure, Hong Kong Disneyland Park had reopened with health & safety measures. All guests entering the park are required to undergo temperature screening, wear face masks & scan the “LeaveHomeSafe” QR code or register contact details as required by regulations.

Hong Kong Disneyland is scheduled to reopen on November 19. Hong Kong Disneyland will continue to operate 5 days a week (Tuesday, Thursday closed) until December 15th when they return to operating every day of the week until January 4th.

    1. It’s ridiculous to think that Covid hasn’t been transmitted many times in the Disney parks worldwide. Tens of thousands of people milling around together for hours at a time, day after day, week after week? Please.
