Iger Calls Rumors of His Return to Disney as CEO “Ridiculous”, Says “I’m Gone”

    UPDATE (11/20): Iger is back.

In a wide-sweeping interview with the New York Times former Disney CEO Bob Iger was asked about the rumors of his return as CEO, first started by CNBC.

The Times’ Kara Swisher poked, saying that there are rumors of Iger’s return as CEO. In response, Iger said “well, that’s ridiculous”. He continued, “I was C.E.O. for a long time. You can’t go home again. I’m gone.”

He noted that he gave his company-issued ID back as well as his nametag. His office and email address have also been commandeered by the company. Iger said that if he wanted to still run a company, he’d be running Disney.

This matches what Iger said back in December about wanting a blank canvas for the next phase of his life.
