Crews are continuing to build the tunnel that will allow the Walt Disney World Railroad to pass under the TRON Lightcycle Run attraction at Magic Kingdom. We’ll take a look at both sides of the work, starting with the Storybook Circus side, which is showing the most progress.
Right now, the railroad track ends at the Storybook Circus station as Disney works on the tunnel. Here’s a look at the roof of the tunnel on the Storybook Circus side of the construction site.
Moving to the Tomorrowland/Space Mountain side of the construction site, we can see that crews are still working on erecting walls for the tunnel, and they have not been able to construct the roof just yet.
Zooming out a bit, we can see that there has been no track laid along the route that will eventually pass under the Tomorrowland PeopleMover to connect with the existing track that runs to the Main Street USA station.
Here’s a look at where the track will eventually connect (by Space Mountain).
Disney has not announced a return date for the Walt Disney World Railroad and has not announced an opening date for TRON Lightcycle Run.
