Disney World Extends Suspension of New Resort Bookings Due to Hurricane Ian

According to the Walt Disney World website, Disney World has extended the “no availability” period for their resort hotels through October 1st. A current check of the website shows availability for arrivals beginning October 2nd. Previously, Disney had no availability through September 30th.

This means that Disney World is essentially not accepting new bookings for resort reservations until October 2nd as they continue to monitor Hurricane Ian. Disney World has suspended new bookings for a few reasons. First, guests currently staying at the resorts may have to extend their vacation if they cannot travel due to Hurricane Ian. Another reason that Disney is holding back rooms is for housing their Cast Members who will be part of the “ride out” team. Another reason that Disney could be holding back inventory is to reduce the number of guests in their hotels due to limited staffing.
