Hurricane Ian Strengthens Into Category 2 Storm

Hurricane Ian now has maximum sustained winds of 100mph, turning the hurricane into a Category 2 storm. Here’s an updated cone of uncertainty graph from the National Hurricane Center. The storm is expected to strengthen in the coming days, turning into a major hurricane (Category 3+) while in the Gulf of Mexico.

Disney World remains in the cone of uncertainty and is currently under a Tropical Storm watch.

Disney World has not released any statements on modified operations, but we anticipate that the resort will make a statement either today or tomorrow as the storm strengthens and the forecast accuracy improves.
