As Disney continues to make progress toward a “fall 2023” opening for Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana, they have added some educational signs to the walkthrough experience. As you may know, Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana will be an edutainment-style walkthrough experience where guests learn about the water cycle. Here’s the latest description from Disney World about what guests can experience when Journey of Water opens:
This fun interactive outdoor trail offers a chance to play and interact with water as it travels from the sky to the oceans and back again. Along the way, guests learn about the importance of water and discover its playful personality – just as Moana did on her heroic voyage.
The image below shows the graphic style that the attraction will use and the cycle of water that we will follow as we make our way through the attraction.
Here’s a look at the educational signs recently added, as seen from the monorail. The image immediately below shows the end of the walkthrough attraction. We can see a sign on the far left of the image.
Here’s a closer look at the sign, which is the end of the water cycle where water returns to the sky through evaporation.
SKY – Water Knows the Way
To get back to the clouds, our water takes a new form. The sun’s warmth changes it into invisible vapor and lifts it to the sky.
The vapor cools into clouds of tiny droplets. Now, it’s ready to be reborn as rain and start its voyage all over again.
This amazing journey from the sky to the seas and back again keeps our planet alive, connecting us all.

THE WATER CYCLE – Water Connects Us
All of the water in the world constantly circles the planet, from the sky to the seas and back again.
It brings life to each of us in turn. This global cycle of water connects us all.
This is the only water we will ever have! If we can conserve it wherever we find it, everyone will have the water they need to live.
