While enjoying a lap on the monorail this morning, we decided to take an updated look at the Disney Vacation Club tower under construction at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. The tower has reached its full height according to concept art, but crews are starting to expand the footprint to include a wing to the south of the main tower and to connect a north wing to the main tower. Let’s take a look at the site and get a better idea of where we’re at with the construction project.

We’ll start with a look from the monorail before we get on the watercraft for a reverse look at the structure. In this wide view, we can see quite a bit of piping staged to be installed for the south wing, as well as the existing (and open) Aotearoa building.

We can see work on the foundation for the south wing is underway.

Moving past the face of the building, this will be the main entrance.

As we start to move along the monorail track and toward the north wing, we can see newly erected walls for the connecting hallways between the main tower and the north wing.

Ok, with the monorail pass completed, let’s jump on a watercraft as we leave Magic Kingdom and head back toward the Polynesian Village Resort area to get a reverse vantage point of the work. We took the resort watercraft, so our first look at the construction will be from an angle near Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort as we travel south across Seven Seas Lagoon to the Polynesian Village dock.

The north wing starts to come into view a bit more as we make it past Disney’s Wedding Pavilion, which sits outside of the project boundary.

Here’s a closer look at the north wing, which will include views of Seven Seas Lagoon and a few rooms oriented right toward Magic Kingdom.

Speaking of views, the penthouse suites will surely offer tremendous views of the Seven Seas Lagoon area and Magic Kingdom. If anyone wants to invite us for a viewing of Happily Ever After, we’ll supply the Lapu Lapu’s!

Continuing on, we can see the connecting hallway to the north wing.

Before we wrap this article up with a wide view, it looks like the lobby will have some wonderful views when completed and possibly even a 2-3 story viewport toward Magic Kingdom.

Finally, here’s a wide view of the construction from the Polynesian Village Resort dock, with the Tuvalu building on the left. The south wing will start to rise up to the left of the main building in the coming weeks or months.

The Disney Vacation Club tower is expected to open in late 2024.
